Here are some unique ideas that will bring an extra sparkle to the moment.
1. The Camera
Purchase a digital camera and take a picture of the ring. Write in the card that she should take a look at the pictures … While she is figuring out the playback function, go down on one knee and ask her the question.
2. The Cracker
Insert the ring into the cracker and ask her to pull it with you. The ring will likely fall to the ground, pick it up and on one knee, propose!
3. The Ornament
Tie the ring to a Christmas ornament. Place it on the tree and hang some mistletoe above. Take her to look at the tree and mention that you bought a new ornament this year. She will notice the ring and while she is taking it off the tree and separating it from the ornament, ask the question under the mistletoe.
4. The Jewelry Exchange
If she is expecting a ring, purchase another piece of jewelry and place it in a box, same size as a ring box and place it under the tree. This will distract from the possibility that you are going to propose in another way, ie not a gift under the tree. On Christmas morning, make her breakfast in bed and propose to her before the day gets started. She will be relieved that the ring isn’t a present under the tree!
5. The Story Book
Start reading your favourite Christmas story, place your proposal speech in roughly the middle of the book. With the same tone, read the story and then continue with your own story on how you met, how much she means to you and when you’re ready to ask the final question, take the ring out of your pocket, get down on one knee and ask her to share the rest of life’s story with you.
May you have a wonderful season of festivities, happiness and joy!
