Behind the scenes at a Cake Smash

I read an interesting article on Part Time Nanny about healthy eating habits and how to instil them in the little ones from a very young age. I particularly liked the tip of not denying them treats every now and then. At the cake smash, however, we discovered that carrots are better tasting than cake! Imagine that.

After a full session of not wanting to touch the cake, then slowly poking the icing, the birthday boy decided that he is not in the mood to get himself full of icing, let alone eat the cake!

The photographers came prepared and a gold chocolate coin was placed inside the cake, hoping that he would go treasure hunting. That lasted for about a minute. Next they resorted to the carrot, yes my healthy friends, the carrot. It received high honours from the birthday boy and we were able to get some cute pictures. Note that the icing that did make it onto his torso was from the mom who decided to get creative and add some "war-paint" to the event.

Just goes to show, every little person is so unique and the moments captured by the photographer were truly indicative of his personality!
